I saw you changed your subtitle. That is good but you will also have to change it for the preview display.

As far as breaking your story into shorter segments, I might consider doing that for new stories you write. Medium does not allow duplicate content. This means if the story exists on the platform already, you can’t post the same content again. You can refer and link to it though.
I believe you would have to delete the current story before breaking it up.
